Rising star Ashe has today shared her new single, ‘Me Without You’ – the latest new track to be revealed from her forthcoming, highly-anticipated debut album ‘Ashlyn’, out May 7th on Mom + Pop Music. ‘Me Without You’ has dropped alongside a striking video which was directed by Jason Lester (LAUV & Conan Gray, Sabrina Carpenter) with creative direction by Ashe. The debut album ‘Ashlyn’ also includes her acclaimed collaboration with FINNEAS ‘Till Forever Falls Apart’ (which has amassed 40 million streams since it’s March release), her monster hit ‘Moral Of the Story’ with Niall Horan (758 million streams to date) and her breakout track ‘Save Myself’.
The young Californian artist’s new track ‘Me Without You’ is a Beatles-esque piece of baroque pop that unfolds as an anthem of self-discovery, backing Ashe’s rhapsodic vocal work with lavish string orchestration. The clip sees Ashe in a speakeasy-style bar, dancing barefoot on broken glass and leaving behind traces of blood seemingly unfazed. Flashes of classic Beach Boys influences can be heard in Ashe’s layered vocals and the song is an empowering anthem displaying Ashe’s growth and evolution both artistically and personally. Ashe explains, “’Me Without You’ is my follow up to ‘Moral Of The Story.’ It’s saying you thought that I needed you to be who I am. There is my past relationship…I had multiple people… You know, assumed that I needed them in my life to feel confident or to be me and “Me Without You” is just this record that’s like, ‘Ooh, I am so good on my own.’”
Ashe’s forthcoming debut album ‘Ashlyn’ is the follow-up to ‘Moral of the Story’ Chapters 1 & 2 (a double EP executive produced by FINNEAS). Building elaborate symphonies around her most intimate revelations, Ashe adorns her new songs with elements of everything from orchestral pop to grandiose ’70s rock to sublimely timeless piano balladry. Ashe’s huge hit ‘Moral Of the Story’ is shines on the LP, including the reimagined version with Niall Horan, as well as her massive track ‘Save Myself’, which garnered over a million streams a week last summer and the official music video saw #SaveMyselfMV trend on Twitter worldwide after its debut, including the U.S. at #5, and nine brand new tracks.
A graduate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Ashe’s meteoric rise includes amassing nearly a million Instagram followers, over 9.5 million monthly Spotify listeners, one million TikTok followers and over 2.5 billion video views. Ashe recently contributed an original song, ‘The Same’, to the new film and soundtrack, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, her second placement in the wildly popular Netflix franchise. She made her stunning late-night TV debut alongside Niall Horan on The Late Late Show with James Corden, taped at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall watch it here, and her daytime debut on Ellen at the top of 2021 watch it here.
