The album puts Soleil’s characteristic soft and intimate voice and her melodies in the centre, accompanied by electronic sounds, digital basses and sparse guitars produced by Igor. Borrowing from genres such as electro, minimal or hip hop, REYKO create electro-popwhich is hypnotic, honest and intimate.
Speaking on their new album, REYKO shared: “In this album, we really took our time to dig deep into personal experiences and feelings and, through the songs, show who we really are in the most honest possible way. Throughout the songs we have combined different emotions, from moments of very deep self-doubt and vulnerability, to explosions of non-sense euphoria. And what is probably present somehow in most of the songs is an element of escapism. Being part of an online generation where we are all overly informed about everything that is going on around us, with the album we wanted to transport our brains somewhere very far away where we could find some sort of peace of mind.”
Being a DIY duo, REYKO have opted for being independent – to be the master of their creativity. Taking great advantage of streaming platforms, the duo has been gradually releasingmusic leading up to the album since autumn, gaining significant following, great reviews from renowned blogs and even being added to global playlists.25 million cross-platform streams so far can attest to this.
REYKO’s subtle energy has started to take notice, having sold out their London show in January. Embarking on a tour of Spain in March and April, with further dates in London, Mexico, Berlin and Belgrade to come, ‘REYKO’ is a glorious celebration of an incredible artist and a beautiful milestone in what is sure to be long and fruitful career ahead.
