After releasing his debut EP Wish Me Luck last month, Scribz Riley has shared the laid-back and introspective video for EP track Secretly.
Hailing from East London, but residing between London and LA, Scribz has worked with artists such as Khalid, H.E.R., J Hus and Cardi B over the last few years, establishing himself as an acclaimed award-winning producer and songwriter, notably achieving two Grammy awards along the way.
With an edgy sound that blends multi-genres with R&B and Rap, Scribz introduced himself as an artist in his own right this year with the singles East Side, Impress Me feat. Headie One, Mandy and Introduce Myself feat. KWN & JADA, cementing his sound across the 4 tracks. Having clocked up over 4 million streams, he has received playlist support from the likes of 1Xtra, been tipped by the likes of Complex, Notion, GRM Daily and Flaunt and is featured as one of the VEVO DSCVR 2021 artists to watch.
With a visual as smooth as the song itself, the video for Secretly showcases Scribz in the studio, giving an intimate insight into him as both performer and producer, reflecting the contemplative nature of the song. Scribz says;
“Secretly is one of my favourite songs on the project; for me it’s about being raw and honest. I’m sure we all have people we may never speak to again that we may think about from time to time. I just put those thoughts into a song, Secretly……”
Wish Me Luck has already garnered much critical acclaim from media and fellow artists through the loyal following Scribz has built for his distinct and polished sound. A musical statement of intent from Scribz, marking that moment before he made the switch to artist as well as producer, the EP features all four singles above alongside a host of brand-new tracks. Featuring guest vocals from the likes of 6LACK, Headie One, Kaash Paige and KWN & JADA, Secretly is the latest song to be highlighted with a brand new video.
Whilst Wish Me Luck signifies the final part of Scribz’ first chapter, it’s just the start of the remarkable musical journey yet to come. Keep an eye on Scribz Riley.
