Bursting with ambition and a fresh twist of minimalist Scandi cool with indie folk pop influences, the EP tracks are inspired by moments of turbulence in Lilly’s own life resulting in an EP which is honest and liberating. Speaking on the new EP, Lilly said: “I’m so excited to finally be releasing my first EP! It is a collection of songs that I’ve written over my first few years of living in London. They represent my highs and lows of falling in love and finding myself through adolescence to adulthood.”
The EP includes the playful and fun brand new single, ‘Call Me’ which Lilly wrote in collaboration with Justin Tranter (Lady Gaga, Ariane Grande, Linkin Park), was produced by Jerker Hansson (Charli XCX, Panic! At the Disco, Zara Larsson) and mixed by Anthony Kilhoffer (Kanye West & winner of four Grammy awards).
Lilly was born in Italy, where she spent the first two years of her life before moving to England and then on to her native Sweden where she grew up in the IKEA-famed town of Älmhult where her parents worked. Described as somewhat of a nomad, Lilly has also lived and drawn influence from her time living in Norway, Australia and the UK, where she is currently based. A multi-instrumentalist, Lilly has performed since the age of 14, when her brother taught her to play guitar to Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’. This led to Lilly creating and uploading YouTube videos performing covers of famous tracks. Meant only for her friends at first, Lilly’s YouTube channel quickly gathered thousands of followers and likes from fans around the world and now boasts 117k followers and counting.
Having released her debut single, ‘Bad Boys’ in 2018 as well as being enlisted to provide vocals to the Sonny Fodera hit, ‘The Moment’, Lilly now boasts over 30 million streams across her catalogue on Spotify. Now with her debut EP out, Lilly is ready to take centre stage as Sweden’s most exciting new export.
